Tokenization workflows for IP and royalty rights.
Connect licensed rights, payer statements and royalty allocations with investor reporting. Coretos builds platforms for rights owners, licensing businesses and operators developing investment products backed by defined royalty income. Launch a branded platform, commission custom development or integrate selected royalty workflows into your existing systems.
Define the right and the income it creates
A royalty tokenization project needs to identify the underlying intellectual property, who controls the relevant rights and which contractual income is included. Rights in a music catalog, a patent license and a software licensing business require different records.
The platform must also identify what the investor receives: an interest in an issuing entity, a contractual payment entitlement or another defined instrument. That relationship is established in the project documents and reflected in the investor experience.
| Record | Scope to define |
|---|---|
| Intellectual property | Work, catalog, patent or other identified asset and supporting rights documentation. |
| License | Parties, permitted use, territory, duration and relevant exclusions. |
| Revenue entitlement | Included income, deductions, recoupment and allocation rules. |
| Investor instrument | Issuer, rights, reporting and the process for payments or transfers. |
Connect statements to the contracts they cover
Coretos can build interfaces for royalty statements from licensees, distributors and other designated payers. The project establishes consistent identifiers for works, contracts, reporting periods and currencies.
We design review tools for missing statements, unmatched amounts and corrected reports. Reported revenue and cash received remain distinguishable, so the administrator can explain a difference before approving an investor payment.
For sources without an API, the scope can include controlled file imports and validation. Each import retains its origin, period and version.
Apply the agreed allocation rules
Royalty income can pass through deductions, recoupment balances and contractual sharing arrangements before an amount is available for distribution. Coretos can integrate the administrator's approved calculations or build a calculation module against a defined specification.
The workflow records the calculation version, supporting statements and approval. Changes in rights ownership or contract terms receive effective dates, allowing the system to apply the relevant version to each reporting period.
Illustrative workflow: a catalog royalty payment. A distributor supplies the period statement; the administrator reconciles it with received funds; approved deductions and recoupment are applied; the allocation is reviewed; payment instructions are issued; investor records show the approved statement and completed payment.
Handle corrections, disputes and expiring rights
An amended payer statement may affect a previous allocation. We design a correction process that preserves the original record and explains any adjustment in a later period.
Disputed income can be tracked separately while the responsible parties resolve it. Contract expiry, territory changes and rights reversions can generate review tasks and changes to future reporting under the approved terms.
The platform gives teams a consistent operating record while legal interpretation and dispute resolution remain with the appointed advisers and rights administrators.
Build for a focused project or a wider catalog
Start with one revenue stream, several catalogs or a multi-party platform. Coretos designs the roles, investor onboarding, reporting and integrations required for the chosen model, with maintenance and further development as new sources are added.
Where issuance planning is part of the project, Coretos can help map the structure and platform route alongside the relevant specialists. Traditional, tokenized and hybrid arrangements can be considered in that discussion.

Questions about royalty tokenization
Does a token give its holder the copyright?
The rights depend on the agreement and instrument. Token ownership should not be presented as an automatic transfer of copyright.
Can we keep our current royalty accounting system?
Yes. We can connect its approved records to investor reporting and payment workflows, with reconciliation between the systems.
Can the platform support several territories and currencies?
We can design those dimensions into the data model and reporting process, including the agreed exchange-rate sources and allocation rules.
